Welcome to our Little Learning Cottage!
One of my favorite parts of our homeschool room is our IKEA KALLAX hack, which we've transformed into a combination of a bulletin board, activity station, and storage system.
It's basically the headquarters of our little homeschool operation. 😂
It holds everything from school supplies and curriculum to educational toys, manipulatives, books, and our rotating activities. The center drawers are labeled by day of the week, making it easy for me to organize our lessons and activities ahead of time. At the bottom, we have our rotating activity stations, where Aria can independently explore different hands-on learning activities throughout the week.
And because we're homeschooling with a baby in tow, the very last row is dedicated to Caleb's little toy and play area! This way, he has his own space to explore and play while big sister learns. We're making room for everybody around here. 😂
Our bulletin board is another favorite of mine! I change it seasonally using different clip art, illustrations, and themed decorations to reflect what we're currently studying. It's such a simple way to keep our space feeling fresh, inviting, and a little whimsical without constantly having to redecorate.
I love that everything has a home, but more importantly, that it's functional and accessible.
My goal was never to recreate a classroom. It was to create a space that invited curiosity, encouraged independence, and made learning feel like a natural part of our home.
